Conservative treatment of primary (congenital) and secondary (acquired) lymphedema is based on specialized diagnostics of lymphatic drainage disorders (if necessary, including lymphoscintigraphy). Treatment includes the prescription of specialized compression garments and physiotherapy through manual lymphatic drainage (MLD). In later stages, home-use devices for lymphatic drainage (Lymphomat) may also be prescribed.
